Indigo Children: Fact or Fiction?

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

By PMH Atwater

Today’s children have been variously described of late as Indigos (because of the supposed color of their auras), Star Kids (because of their purported origination from other worlds), Crystals (because some say they are highly developed), and so forth. None of these claims hold up to the degree that they are made when subjected to objective research, whether via scientific observation or by the study of mystical/esoteric traditions or through a summary of visionary revelations. It’s a Scam, Don’t Go Back!

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Trust your instincts - especially when a reading makes you feel uncomfortable! You should leave a session with a psychic feeling empowered, not frightened. When a psychic tells you to keep a reading secret, it is because s/he is trying to protect themselves, not you…. Leave, and don’t even think about going back. (more…)

Tap into your Higher Intelligence

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

By Dr Jill Ammon-Wexler

When we think of intelligence, IQ immediately comes to mind. But IQ may in fact be the most limited aspect of our human intelligence.

Early in the 20th century, the concept of IQ came roaring to the forefront of psychology and education. IQ tests quickly became a popular means of measuring human intelligence.

IQ scores were used to sort people into “levels” of estimated intelligence. The theory was: The higher a person’s IQ, the brighter they were.

The Discovery of EQ
Then in the 1990’s science writer Daniel Goldman wrote a book summarizing years of neuroscience research. The research included in his book - “Emotional Intelligence” - packed a tremendous impact. His book raised emotional intelligence (EQ) to an equal standing with IQ. (more…)

Feeling Some Impending Disaster in the Air?

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Have you been feeling anxious for no explainable reason? Feel like something big is coming at us? Are you having some unusual dreams or visions? You are not alone. I received this note earlier this week and thought it was worth passing on.  (more…)

The Power of Prayer

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Prayer can be a powerful - and mysterious - force in our lives. It need not be formal and it requires no special time or place. Although praying in a sacred place, like a church, at a home altar, or in a special place in your garden, can add weight and power to your prayers, you can pray any time, anywhere… I will often choose to say a quiet prayer as a way of distracting myself from some negative thought or worry or fear - and offer the prayer for all those who share the same anxieties… and I will reach out with - and for - prayer requests to any groups who gather in prayer. Heartfelt prayers can save lives, as this visitor tells us: (more…)

Love with a Perfect Stranger

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
Life offers us countless opportunities for love that we have been too frightened to accept. How do you summon the courage to break your conditioned patterns and let yourself love with reckless abandon?
By Jean-Claude Gerard Koven

When I was 19, there was nothing about love I didn’t know. I was like a religious zealot infused by the Holy Spirit, prepared to battle any force standing in the path of my (hormonal) convictions. The equation was deceptively simple: Love is all there is – and I wanted as much of it as I could get.

Then the sixties rolled in on a wave of psychedelic flower power. Volkswagen minivans festooned with multicolored daisies symbolized our new-felt freedom from the tyranny of the “thou-shalt-not” bible thumpers. We made love, not war, eagerly taking advantage of every available opportunity to express our Bacchanalian credo. Those were heady times of excess permissiveness that left millions of us nursing a lingering hangover.

We staggered out of the seventies on uncertain legs. America had weathered an extended period of high inflation liberally spiced with low economic growth and intermittent energy shortages. We were humiliated by the Iran hostage crisis and in dire need of a radical makeover. To many of us, Ronald Reagan and the conservative values he championed seemed to be the perfect antidote.

Love – at least as my generation knew it – got swept aside by his landslide victory. By the time the charismatic ex-California governor took office, I was deeply ensconced in yuppiedom, living in a large home in Connecticut. Much of my hormonal currency had already been spent and love’s earlier driving imperative downshifted into a more subtle gear. I began feeling uneasy in my own skin. Nothing seemed to make sense anymore. I felt like a robot programmed to live someone else’s life.

In my 44th year I finally reached my tipping point. I abruptly left my old life and hopped a plane to Australia where I discovered a rather unnerving fact: no matter how far or how fast I traveled, there I was. There was no way out of my conundrum except to allow myself to journey through it. At the time, I had no idea where to find the elusive grail that would finally lend direction to my rudderless existence.

Talking About Time: Apocalypse, New Age, or Mayan Meltdown?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
Does Anybody Really Know What Time it is?
Mankind has an instinct for perceiving all of time and history as meaningful.  We have long been occupied with organizing the flow of the past, the present and the future into some grand design; whether an endless, repeating cycle, or a straight line moving forward towards some ultimate destiny and fulfillment.  That’s why so many different peoples, in different cultures throughout history, have devised so many vast and astonishing religious cosmologies, and continue to do so today.

The Relevance of Ritual in Our Lives

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

We tend not to think of the significance of ritual in our modern lives.  For most of us, the daily rituals involve getting to and from work, dealing with the everyday demands of caring for home, families and business. I think the lack of ritual in our lives is the reason why so many question the purpose of it all and wonder why their lives seem to lack real meaning to anyone but themselves. Yet ritual has a way of helping us to focus, to appreciate and value what is good in our lives. (more…)

Indigo Children: Fact or Fiction?

Friday, August 15th, 2008

by PMH Atwater, L.H.D.

Audiences interrupt my talks with vigorous applause when I suggest that using labels like “Indigo” to categorize today’s children causes more harm than good. And this happens almost everywhere I travel. Because the applause is getting steadily louder, I feel compelled to speak on this issue.

The new children have been variously described of late as Indigos (because of the supposed color of their auras), Star Kids (because of their purported origination from other worlds), Crystals (because some say they are highly developed), and so forth. None of these claims hold up to the degree that they are made when subjected to objective research, whether via scientific observation or by the study of mystical/esoteric traditions or through a summary of visionary revelations.

A Parent’s Instincts

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Long before I began working as a psychic, I had learned to trust my instincts around my son. Probably because my parents trust their’s… to this day, Mom pays attention when Dad tells her that something is up with one of his children or his grandchildren. Dad usually has a pretty good idea of what he’s feeling - and is most often right on the money.  Parents have a way of just knowing what their children are up to… and when they don’t, it’s because they haven’t been paying attention - or, even worse, don’t want to.
