MOON MAGIC Astrological Timing - October 2008

The appearance of the New Moon crescent on September 30th signals the beginning of a 10 day / 9 night period celebrated in common by five distinct world cultures. Traditional Cherokees, Jews, Chinese, Hindus and followers of the old Greek Mysteries believe this is the time each year when the world is recreated. This is our time to write a new story.

The Cherokee “Great New Moon” initiates a spiritual renewal and healing that culminates 10 days later in a celebration called Atohuna  or the Friends Made Ceremony. Jews celebrate the 10 High Holy Days from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur. The intervening days are a time for forgiving old hurts, healing relationships and opening hearts to love.

The 2008 Elections - An Astrological Perspective

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

by Phil Reckard

We astrologers could spend way too much time looking at the birth charts of the two candidates to determine who has the best chance of winning but we’d do so at the expense of the larger picture effecting all of us with the transits involved. I’ll leave it alone with Saturn on Obama’s natal Pluto as a signal that he’s moving into his destiny versus McCain living way beyond his second Saturn return, which I see as a problematic detriment.

Of course the ultimate in real-time transits is the first of five exact Saturn/Uranus oppositions, happening precisely on election day. As archetypes that would make even the original Olympians blush, McCain exemplifies Saturn as the cranky old man while Obama personifies Uranus’ overused buzzword of “change.” After two-plus years of the illusion-shattering Saturn/Neptune oppositions with it’s corresponding marginalization of the Religious Right (most of whom aren’t enthusiastic about McCain), Obama’s astrologers have correctly identified the prevailing mood of this November - it’s all about change. 2012, What’s All the Fuss About?

Friday, April 4th, 2008

2012 is still almost 4 years away, but folks are already anxious. So many fear that it could be the end of times - but then, folks thought Y2K might be the end of times… You get my point.

Countless prophets - ancient and modern - have pointed to this as a transformative time in our history. For thousands of years we have been told that this is a dangerous time, that we must be alert, careful, and loving. The ending in 2012 of the ancient Mayan calendar provides a focal point for the transformation, (one of many that we have attached ourselves to over the centuries). What with the news of global warming, it is no wonder then, that so many are looking ahead to 2012 with some anxiety.

Global Meditation, March 21

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

A global meditation is being called by many different people and groups during the equinox of March 20 and the Full Moon of March 21. This two-day event is roughly the midpoint of two super-dynamic global energetics “caused” by Saturn in his oppositions to Neptune over the past few years, and Prometheus (Uranus) over the next few years, as outlined in almost all of my monthly forecasts.

The main feature at this upcoming equinox and Full Moon is a Grand Cross on Good Friday March 21, involving the Sun and Moon (opposed each other) at right angles to the separating Mars/Pluto opposition. Usually, a Grand Cross is a challenging configuration with at least four planets “at odds” with each other - a cross-current of competing energies loaded with potential conflicts. This Grand Cross even seems to conflict with the equinox of the day before, traditionally a time to celebrate new beginnings for those of us in the northern hemisphere, signaling the start of a new growing season. Mercury Retrograde - Oct 11- Nov 1

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Intense Days Ahead…..

Mercury is retrograde Oct 11 to Nov 1 - a good time to be solving mysteries, for digging deep - and coping with those intense feelings that are likely to come up. Indeed, this period is so charged — and potentially chaos-inducing — that you would be wise to get a reading, to seek help from the stars before making any decision.

Says Phil, Global Psychics’ resident astrologer: “Focusing on the New Moon of October 11, the usual time for new beginnings, much of the Mars/Pluto edginess will have dissipated, only to be replaced by the beginning of the Mercury retrograde joyride. If we can think outside the box, or better yet - imagine that the box doesn’t even exist - we’ll be okay. Our imaginations and communications with the Spirit world work best in (you guessed it) the here and now. Mercury Goes Retrograde Feb 13/14

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Since astrology’s Murphy’s Law swings into action in a few days, from Feb 14 to Mar 12 (Feb 13, east of EST) I thought it would be useful to post a heads up. You’re probably already feeling its influence. With Mercury going retrograde in Pisces, we should find this is an especaillay introspective cycle.

When Mercury goes retrograde, we need to be ready to deal with unforseen changes and blockages - and to be willing to go with the flow, or perhaps more aptly said, to roll with the punches. This cycle typically reveals flaws in both our inner and outer worlds… so if, we are noticing of the challenges that come up and willing to make the changes that are dictated, we will usually find this cycle is actually quite productive in the long-term. In fact, some folks actually prosper in this cycle and it can be a good time to follow through on plans and decisions that are already in motion.

With Mercury retrograde in Pisces, you may find that you are having some strange dreams - remember to write them down, they may contain some important messages for you. However beware the unfounded fears that may rise to the surface in this time, don’t try to read between the lines, and be careful not to overreact when s/he calls to apologize for standing you up. You may feel a lot of mental and emotional confusion… relax, take a big deep breath, and think again before you act.

Asro-Alert - Mercury Retrograde until Nov 17

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

The planet Mercury went retrograde on Oct 28 and doesn’t return to forward motion until Nov 17. Some have called the Mercury Retrograde periods “astrology’s Murphy’s Law”. The usual warnings apply: Try to avoid signing any contracts in this time, and do not make any life changing decisions. Plan for be delays and detours with travel, and be sure computer files are backed-up. There could be communication issues, so take special care with instructions and directions in this cycle. This is the time for all that “re” work, exploring the past, re-evaluating and rethinking plans and strategies.

According to Phil and a number of other astrologers that I researched today, this is no ordinary retrograde. In his words “this is no cookie-cutter Merc retro.
