 My mom died two years ago of cancer, and we have a cat who is very loving, and cuddled with her a lot while she was in her last stretch, well lately I’ve been getting a lot of signs from her, and my cat will stare up at the ceiling like he sees something, and he has done  this for the past two years, do you think it could be my mom he is looking  at?…sometimes he’ll get spooked when I randomly smell insulin (she was diabetic).  How do you know that a spirit is present?

Many of you have wondered about how you can tell the difference between the times when your imagination is working overtime or you have had a real spirit visit.

If you have a pet in your home and they start acting strangely, then you can be pretty sure that you have a visitor from the other side.  But there are other signs, as Mischa notes below, goosebumps and unexpected waves of cold air are also indications… candles suddenly flickering when there is no draft to affect them, lights dimming, objects falling unexplanably… or you might feel a tap on the shoulder, someone brushing your cheek, touching your arm… or you could hear your name or a knock at the window, or smell tobacco burning when no one is around. Pets are very sensitive to spirit life. Cats and dogs are great barometers of spirit activity around us.  So pay attention the next time your normally calm cat is suddenly frantically dashing from room to room, they could very well be chasing a ghost.  (more…)

 This is the time of year when the spirits are restless and will manifest whenever and wherever they can - even our pets are prone to scary paranormal experiences in this period.

My husband and I rent an old farm house; it was built in 1900. We’ve had some strange things happen there; not often enough to be a huge problem, but definitely enough to make me aware. We’ve had lights turn on when we’ve turned them off, our cat Karma is really sensitive, we’ve had chairs move, a dish fly across the floor and break, cold breezes, things end up in strange places, very “real” dreams of ghosts in our house, you name it.

We talk about being One with all, but is it possible to experience it?

Have you ever had a moment when you felt connected to the entire world, and you knew EVERYTHING? It might have lasted only a minute or two, but you can never forget those moments…. they are life-changing!

As serendipity would have it, years ago I came across an amazing book, Cosmic Consciousness by Dr Richard Maurice Bucke, just in time to explain what had recently happened to me…. Bucke alerted me to the signficance of the experience - and also pointed me in the direction of the work I needed to do if I wanted to sustain the connection.

 Friends and neighbours have always been a little surprised that my animals come when I call then, both the dog and the cats. When I trained my first cat some three or more decades go, I didn’t know that cats don’t usually respond to being called.  We lived in a condominium complex in those days that allowed pets, but demanded that they come in at night. So, if anyone was missing as dusk settled into darkness, I would put my head out the door to call for the cats. And always within minutes, I would hear the meows at the door to come in for the night. When birds and animals appear around you, especially when they behave in some odd manner as the ducks in this next story do, they are usually carrying a message for you. I keep Ted Andrew’s book Animal Speak as a handy reference near my desk to be sure I “get it” when some critter appears around me.

This past weekend, I went to the country to visit  friends, they have lots of land, and animals. They have ducks they have raised. My friend and I were sitting on their front porch, watching the ducks feed, they came in front of me and starting talking, I mean they were trying to tell me something,and they did the duck dance, that is what I call it. I am on a spiritual journey and I know that I am moving to higher levels, I am so excited. I hope this is part of the elevation. Angela

About 10 years ago, when I was 4 or 5, my dad accidentally closed our garage door on a stray black cat, killing it. We didn’t recognize it. I don’t remember this incident, my mother told me and my 13-year-old brother about it. Needless to say, my dad was ashamed and we burried it in our yard. Just last year, my brother said he saw a ghost cat walking around on three different occassions. The first time he spotted it outside, the second time the cat was sitting beside him inside the house and jumped through the ceiling to the second floor, and the third time was also inside the house. My brother told me he was scared of it, but the cat never tried to hurt him or showed any aggression toward him. He is especially afraid to go into the guest bedroom because he said he feels like something is watching him, and he suspects it is the cat. Would his impulsive fear of this ghost cat suggest that the cat was trying to hurt him in any way? What reason does the cat have for hanging around our house? (more…)
