A weird call from a stranger…
First, what is a Doppelganger? From ThoughtCo"
"A Doppelganger is a mysterious, exact double of a living person. It's a German word that literally translates to "double walker" or "double goer". A Doppelganger isn't someone who just resembles you, but is an exact double, right down to the way you walk, act, talk, and dress. A friend or even a close relative who encounters your Doppelganger will swear it was you, even though you can prove you were not in the location the double was sighted.
Seeing a Doppelganger has also been considered an omen of misfortune or bad luck. Most often today, however — as reports of Doppelganger show — they seem to be neither sinister nor evil, nor do they herald streaks of bad luck.
Another explanation for the phenomenon — and no less mysterious — is bilocation: a psychic projection of yourself – in every detail – that can appear in another place. This phantom self can even interact with other people."
One of my strangest experiences was a phone call that came during a particularly stressful time in my life…. I picked up the phone to hear a pleasant young man's voice asking how I felt today… I answered "fine"… He chatted on as if he knew me.. I responded rather hesitantly as I tried to figure out how I knew him. Then he asked about my son, but the boy he was speaking of was much younger than Pat so I stopped him at that point, said he must have the wrong Danielle, because my son was 17… how did he know me?
The young man said we met the night before at a night club in Gloucester, we had talked and danced most of the night and when the lights came up I had given him my phone number on a napkin… He certainly had my number and my name as well as Pat's, but how could he have gotten all that information about me when I had been home, reading and watching TV the night before. I told him that our meeting was impossible, since I had been home all night.. we both got so flustered that we quickly said good bye and hung up… to this day I regret not asking him to meet to show me the napkin.
It is possible that he danced with my Doppelganger, a much younger me, but I didn't think of it at the time… Then, and now, I thought that the spirit in me had materialized in Gloucester that night to relax and have some fun, a break from the stress. It was a perfect example of bilocation… there have been other instances of friends saying they saw me somewhere I knew I hadn't been, but this was the first time I could say for sure that I had been in two places at once..
