My Perceived Truth About 2012 And The Mayan Calendar
The date December 21st, 2012 A.D. (13.0.0.0.0 in the Long Count), represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun), what that ancient Maya recognized as the Sacred Tree.
Over the past few years I have made the effort and taken time out to explore the Mayan ruins of Mexico and Guatemala, in order to understand the Mayan calendar and what is soon coming, the end of this world, as we know it! . The end of time, as we know it, is prophesized to happen on December 21, 2012, the Winter Solstice. I have been a student of Mayan culture for several decades, and have finally been able to visit the sights of various Mayan ruins in Mexico and Central America , and hook up with the indigenous people “in the know”. I plan to do further exploration and more expeditions. Anyone who wishes to join me is welcome.
My last trip, just this February, 2010, allowed me to connect with a wonderful Mayan guide/teacher/priest, Angel, in Tulum , Mexico . He spent a great deal of time with me explaining the Mayan view point of the world in relationship to their calendar. He opened my eyes and gave me major insight into what 2012 really means. I could not have written this article without his input. Only now, can I write with some degree of intelligence/insight as to what will likely happen in 2012. Both Angel's grandmothers are full blooded Maya and will not permit even Spanish to be spoken in their homes! These grandmothers only will speak Quiche Mayan. This revelation of Angel's family background was to set the tone of his entire tour/teaching with us.
We will see a major shift in consciousness. The shift will be from male energy to the female. This is a polar shift of power. The power will now be transferred to the Feminine. This will change the consciousness of the world. The powers that be have been facilitating this change for over a decade now. We are on the edge of major changes here on planet Earth. The Kundalini of the planet has shifted from the Himalayas to the Andes Mountains . This energy is called the Serpent of Light. I highly recommend reading Drunvalo Melchizedek's book, “Serpent of Light: Beyond 2012, The Movement of the Earth's Kundalini and the Rise of the Female Light, 1949-2013”. The Force has already shifted from Asia to South America . The Western hemisphere now has the Energy.
This world is in a major flux. The old ways of centuries past are proving inadequate. The world is going to change for certain, and some of the changes will be difficult.
Angel immediately let me know that the Maya knew more than they are given credit for. They knew that there were nine planets. They knew about the sun spot cycles. They knew that the planets orbited around the sun long before Copernicus was jailed for heliocentric heresy. The Maya had no telescopes, no wheels, no pack animals, though their calendar is more accurate than ours. Their cities were laid out in precise geometrical configurations. They built roads that connected each city, again repeating the geometrical configurations. How did they know these things without our modern technology? Who were and are these people? This is a mystery unto itself. This was, and still is, an amazing culture. The Maya still live in the Yucatan and parts of Central America and they carry on their traditional ways just as before. The Maya are in contact with all of the aboriginal tribes of the planet, including the Maori in New Zealand (They share the same sacred stone, jade, as do the Chinese and Japanese.), the Aborigines of Australia, the Hopi and the Navajo in North America . All the native tribes of this planet are in contact with one another!
These native people maintain a constant spiritual connection. Their shamans and medicine men/women are in constant contact. There is a very real psychic connect within and amongst all the various native tribes throughout the world.
“THE LOOKOUT” AT THE TULUM RUINS, MEXICO
THIS IS WHAT CORTEZ FIRST SAW OF THE MAINLAND OF MEXICO . IT HAD ALREADY BEEN ABANDONED HUNDREDS OF YEARS BEFORE HE SET SAIL FROM SPAIN . HE MOVED ON AND EVENTUALLY LANDED AT VERACRUZ TO BEGIN HIS CONQUEST OF MEXICO .
This is the Birthing Temple at Tulum. This is where the women would give birth. It faces East to West. The front of the building faces the Caribbean Sea , east and the sunrise. The back side as photographed faces west. The Mayan word for birth means “Giving/Bringing Light”. Zoom in and notice the carving of a child emerging from the womb over the doorway. You can see the head, shoulders, and arms as the child is birthed. It is coming out upside down; head first, as it should be. Every Mayan city has one of these Birthing Temples.
THE MAYAN CITIES WERE SPREAD THROUGHOUT CENTRAL AMERICA, PRIMARILY IN MEXICO , GUATEMALA , BELIZE , AND PARTS OF EL SALVADOR . THEY DATE BACK SOME 3,000 YEARS. THE MAYA WERE NOT THE FIRST TO BUILD CITIES IN CENTRAL AMERICA .
• THE MAYANS HAD A VERY STRATIFIED SOCIETY. THERE WERE THE PRIESTS, INTELLECTUALS, AND WARRIORS. THEN THERE WERE THE FARMERS AND MERCHANTS. THEY ALL KNEW THEIR PLACE IN THEIR SOCIETY.
The Maya of Tulum built walls around their city, not to defend themselves, but to separate the intellectuals from the workers. Society was strictly defined. There were those in the know and those who just were just concerned with their mundane existence. Inside the walls, the teachers and priests resided. The workers lived outside the walls close to their maize fields, gardens, and shops. The Maya were great traders and had roads throughout their land to facilitate trade. They traded far afield. Some Mayan traders reached the Pueblo of Taos in northern New Mexico and the Mound Builders' culture of the Midwest United States. They traded with the Natives in Cahokia , Illinois . The Maya brought chocolate, parrot feathers, and sea shells to the Natives of North America. The Hopi are closely related to the Maya and still are in close contact. Legend has it that the Hopi were Mayan and were sent to settle the Four Corners ( Arizona , Colorado , Utah , and New Mexico ) area of the USA . This influenced the Navajo as well.
• THE MAYA BELIEVED THEY LIVED IN THE FIFTH WORLD OR AGE OF THE SUN. THEY BELIEVED THAT THERE WERE FOUR PREVIOUS RACES OF MAN, FOUR PREVIOUS WORLDS. THEY ALL WERE DESTROYED BY HUGE CATACLYSMS.
• ACCORDING TO THE MAYA THE FIFTH WORLD BEGAN ON AUGUST 12, 3114 BC AND WILL END ON DECEMBER 21, 2012 AD. THIS END WILL BE LIKE THE PREVIOUS FOUR, IN CATACLYSM. THE PROPHECIES SAY THIS CATACLYSM WILL BE BY EARTHQUAKES.

THE MAYANS PERCEIVED AND STILL DO PERCEIVE THE WORLD DIFFERENTLY THAN WE DO. THEIR PARADIGM WAS ONE THAT ECHOED THAT OF THE LEGENDARY ATLANTIS OR SOME SUCH CIVILIZATION. THEY LIVED IN A MATRIX OF THEIR OWN. MAYBE THEY CAME FROM OUTER SPACE! WHO WERE AND ARE THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE THE MOST MAGICAL PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET! THE MAYA ARE STILL ALIVE AND THRIVING.
THE MAYAN RAIN GOD, CHAC
Rain is a very important thing to the Maya. Most of the Maya live on the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico . This land is primarily porous limestone and rain that falls soaks right through the limestone. There are no major surface rivers or water systems in the Yucatan . They must rely on water that wells up through the limestone in the form of what are called cenotes; they are natural wells. These are deep, cavernous wells of underground water that rise to the surface. Entire underground rivers run under the land of the Yucatan , but only through these cenotes can you access water. The Mayan cities were built around these cenotes. It was their source of drinking water. The first building that Angel pointed out to us at Tulum was the well temple. It was the primary water source for the city of Tulum . These underground passages are said to lead to the fabled place of Xibala, the Mayan underground, and their equivalent to Hades/hell. Tulum was the “Harvard/Oxford” of the Mayan world. It was where the main center of learning was located. Tulum represents the fourth chakra, the throat, the voice. It is spoken knowledge. Tulum was the intellectual capitol of the Mayan Kingdom . To go to Xibala and back is reminiscent of the Hermit card, the 9th Trump in the Book of Thoth (Tarot). The Hermit has Cerberus, the three headed hound of hell, following him at his heels like a puppy dog. This represents the recognition of initiation. One must go to hell and back to be truly initiated. The Maya are very tuned into the Sacred Mysteries. These Mysteries are Universal and World Wide. Make no mistake. They even have a Sacred Tree of Life, similar to the Hebrew Qabalistic Tree of Life. There is even a Mayan city named Kaba, as in Kaballah. As I said above, all of these indigenous people are connected. It seems that it is those of us of European descent, who are the ones that are disconnected!
I have been humbled by every native person I have met in my world travels. From Arizona to Bali, from Panama to Mexico , and as far away as Australia and New Zealand , I have been welcomed by the very friendly natives who only wish to share their knowledge with me. For that, I am grateful. The Mayans have my full attention right now. Their calendar fascinates me, their warmth and love calls me back. I will go back back for more.
