Meditation and Meditating: 10 Steps to Reach a Deep Meditative State
1= Make sure your phone is off and that you make time for you, make sure your door is locked so you do not have any distractions. Turn your T.V off, it is essential you have no distractions at all so you can reach a deep meditative state, make sure you have a glass of water beside you. Light a candle and or incense. Dim your lights so you have nice soft lighting, or if you wish you can also close your curtains over until you have done your meditation.
2= Either sit in a nice comfortable chair or your bed if you wish, sit with your legs uncrossed and make sure you have comfortable loose clothing on, this is also essential as the more comfortable you are the more relaxed you will feel. If you choose a chair to sit on make sure your feet are firmly on the ground, also take your shoes and socks off or if you wish you may keep your socks on but do take your shoes off. If you chose to do a meditation on a chair (comfortable one) or your bed, put a pillow behind your head and back for extra comfort and relaxation.
3= Turn on soothing, peaceful music such as angelic music or anything at all that is relaxing to you, as long as its soothing to you, you will be able to reach a deep me dative state.
4= Now that you are nice and comfortable with no disturbances, dressed comfortably, candles lit, lights dimmed, curtains drawn, water beside you, make sure you are not too cold nor too hot, make sure the temperature of your room is just nice room temperature.
5= You are now ready to begin. What you need to do before you reach a deep meditative state is make sure you are grounded and protected, which also relaxes you even more so it’s time now to start breathing, close your eyes.
6= Breath nice and slowly in through your nose and out through your mouth, making sure you are breathing nice and deeply, 3 deep breaths should do it but make sure you are breathing from right down to your tummy so it’s raising each time you inhale and goes down each time you exhale. You may find this hard to start with but as you keep practicing it will get easier and you will benefit from this, as this releases any anxieties, stresses, worries etc. Pay attention to your breathing and try and clear your mind, recognise and feel your breathing becoming deeper and deeper, keep doing this and feel your body becoming more and more relaxed with each deep breath you take.
7= Now if you are not used to this type of deep meditation you may feel your head getting a little light that’s okay, just take a wee sip of water to ground yourself too and if you feel uncomfortable with this just stop it today and start it again tomorrow but if you can get yourself into this state you will feel totally at ease with everything, yourself, family, friends, most importantly your inner self and the feelings you will experience will feel unbelievable.
8= As you continue on with your deep breathing at a nice relaxing pace you will feel yourself relaxing even more so much more you may feel yourself drifting off, if this does happen make sure you don’t have your candle lit or if you feel this would happen with you please do not light a candle at the start as this could be very dangerous, though you may continue to use your incense as long as you have it where there is no danger. You will also experience contact with your higher self in this state too, most important thing too is knowing you are totally safe and allowing yourself to reach this state as you won’t experience anything like it.
9= When you get to this stage you may feel the temperature beside you either drop a little of feel it heightening a little that’s okay too as it means spirits are with you, though you may not hear any message but you will feel their presence or you may feel the presence of angels or your guardian angel, again that’s fantastic, you may also feel tingling on your body that’s okay too, again it means either spirit, angels, your guardian angel or your guides are with you so just keep breathing and relaxing and really get the benefit out of this.
10= Now that you are at this stage and have felt all these feelings as in temperature dropping or heightening, feeling presence of spirit, angels, your guardian angel or your guides and have experienced this wonderful feeling it’s time to come back to the here and now so just keep breathing, deep breaths again 3 should do it but nice and slowly and again become aware of your breathing as your tummy raises as you inhale and goes down as you exhale, become aware of your surroundings (the here and now) wiggle your toes and your fingers, open your eyes and do a big stretch, now congratulate yourself as you have achieved going into a deep meditative state and feel totally relaxed and at ease with yourself. Take a sip of water now and when ready go ahead and blow out your candle, open the curtains, turn your light on proper or you may wish to keep it dimmed, turn your music off or again if you wish keep it on, turn your phone back on and open your door again.
