Over and over in this year's forecasts, I found myself telling clients that this is the year to simplify, declutter, harmonize the polarities in their lives... collaborate with partners, friends and family... we shall see...it is the right time to be paying attention to family, to healing ourselves and helping where we can... a great year to be generous with random acts of kindness.

In Numerology, 2010 is a "3 - 0" year, a year when we can explore creative solutions and more easily find support in making them happen.
2009 was a relatively quiet year in many respects, with the world in recession, the focus has been on regrouping and recovery. 2010 sees the recovery finally becoming more obvious, but it will be a whole lot more dramatic - and traumatic - for some... the weather will be the big story, more and more coastal communities affected by flooding, fierce storms killer cold... and politically, conflicts heat up - the sense that terrorist activity is kind of digging in... more determined than ever to make an impact.

In The News in 2010
I use the Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards to help me identify some of the key stories and trends in the news in 2010.
Here's what came from the Russian Gypsy deck:
- For some, this is a year of absorbing the losses.... in other words, while the economy is recovering, individuals will not easily recover the losses they experienced in the crash of 2008 and some may never recover their former prosperity.
- An inconsiderate action creates problems for others - I am thinking this applies perhaps to North Korea and their insistence on continuing to play with nuclear weaponry, and also to drilling or underwater excavations that create much bigger problems in the environment... and it applies to all those industries who refuse to accept that they are contributing to global warning and the breakdown of our environment... this also makes me think of the possibility of a significant disaster caused by human error... and of course escalating terrorist activity.
- Warning to "be careful who you trust" - an indication of a quite public betrayal, but I also sense this could have something to do with an international/political alliance that is disregarded.
- Careful diligent action is required - I believe this applies in every aspect of life on the planet at this time... this is not the time for fools to be rushing in, no quick fixes will take at this time... thane is a caution here also to be aware that our decisions and actions in 2010 will have a long-lasting impact... on the upside, we could see some new advances in medicine and technology that will provide some long-lasting solutions to old problems.
- Another interesting message here that has some subtle undertones to it is a message that we see the best come from people when times are touch... the subtle implications of this message are that we could see some real heroes step forward in response to natural disasters.
Here's what came as I began to focus on the energy of 2010:
Melting of the polar icecaps is wreaking havoc on the planet with increasing flooding in most coastal areas, but also with intense storms that drop extraordinary amounts of water inland... water levels are rising too quickly for many communities to cope with... old sewer systems in many parts of the world will break down under the loads causing tremendous losses of property and even lives in some areas. increasing flooding for Island countries, like the UK
Several devastating storms to hit, one: perhaps known as Hurricane Irene..losses in the southern states and the east coast are somewhat reduced because there is adequate warning.
The economy improves, but sluggishly, and there is a price... delays in environmental protection programs are justified by the need to get the wheels in motion.
A lot of underwater activity, the Ring of Fire activate now, volcanic activity underwater and above ground, one sudden unexpected burst in the Pacific will ultimately create great damage... Hawaii can be badly affected here. Also seeing earthquakes and hurricanes of some magnitude in California, Greece, Turkey, Afghanistan, Russia, even Africa - the earth is moving and cracking in unexpected ways, in places that are not known for serious geological disasters.
A sensational kidnapping a child taken from under the noses of their parents, an inside job, one of the caretakers... a warning to the parents to trust their instincts, the mother will say "I knew it, I knew it, I knew I shouldn't have...."
Killer cold kills crops, devastating heat burns others, many different food shortages...
Obama is blamed for all that he can't do and may be in some real physical danger, especially in the heat of the summer.
Terrorist activity is escalating, a sense of a greater determination and sense of urgency there, as if they feel they are running out of time to be able to force the changes they have wished for in their home countries. We see "forums" - sports arenas, conferences, as well as trains, buses and planes under attack here... anywhere that large groups of people gather are subject to scrutiny... no amount of security will stop these attacks.... we will have to learn to be more responsible and noticing of what is going on around us.
China's in trouble, lack of attention to environmental issues is catching up with them, economically they are struggling to maintain recent growth levels... applying national standards is challenging...

The Summary
We will each need to dig in and get to work in this 3-0 year, the first of what could prove to be the most critical years of this century... how we handle ourselves in this period, how we react to the earth changes will determine how well we will do for the rest of time.... A significant shift is upon us... in the midst of a cycle of tribulation takes us through to 2012... Our biggest concerns, therefore, this year will probably continue to be around earth changes and the weather - and the resultant food and water shortages!
